Researching Your Essay's Topic
One of the most important aspects of essay or report writing is to have a well thought out or researched topic. A little fluff through the paper is acceptable, but when the essay is only fluff, you can look for a fluffed grade. If the professor gives an option of choosing a topic, then try and find something that you are somewhat familiar with. Certainly you will need to research the topic further to have current information, but stick with a subject that is important to you. People write better when they are writing about something that has touched their own lives or that they have personal knowledge about. Now sometimes this is impossible, none of us lived that far back in history and for a history essay, you may have to go with something interesting to research.
Organizing Your Essay
Building an outline seems like a waste of time, but it can actually help you organize and think your thoughts through about the topic. If it is an English class that you are taking, chances are that you will have to turn in an outline anyway. An outline can also help you determine whether or not you have researched and obtained enough information from the library. The outline will also help you narrow down the topic to ensure that you present the facts, make the point and do not turn in an essay full of rambling comments.
When it comes time to actually write the essay, you need to ensure that if English and grammar were not your strong suit, arm yourself with some help. Plagiarism carries a heft price for students whether they intended to copy or not. Most universities have a strict policy and warn that students caught plagiarizing could be suspended or kicked out of the university all together. Most of the grammar workbooks will detail the rules and guidelines for plagiarism and how to avoid copying the work of someone else. Citing the work and giving credit to the respective owner will keep you out of hot water and you can learn a great deal about the APA or MLA citation format. This is something that you will be referencing for the rest of your college career. How to cite and reference is also very important in the business world as well. Just as you are not allowed to steal and copy writing in college, it is illegal to credit yourself with work in the business world that you do not own.
Proofreading your Essay
The last tip, but certainly not the least important is proofing your essay before turning it in. Do not assume that everything is correct and all sentences make sense. Always proofread your work aloud. If you read it silently, you may read a word or sentence how you intended it instead of how it really appears. Read that again, it is confusing, but very important! Make sure that every sentence is a complete thought and makes sense. Check for the correct punctuation, word tense as well as the correct word. There are also several writing software's that will assist you in catching mistakes before handing it to the professor.

Get your college essay done fast! Write the basic idea (first paragraph) then as many sub points as paragraphs needed in a very simple outline format. Then have someone type as you dictate out the paragraphs.
Does someone that loves you? (e.g. Mom, girlfriend) Buy this person flowers. Have them fixed all your grammar, style and spelling errors as you tell them "I love you". If no one loves you, then pay someone to edit your work.
